The 17th ASEAN Congress of Cardiology From 18 to 21 October 2008, together with ASEAN colleague, Vietnam Heart Association will be organizing the 17th ASEAN Congress of cardiology. "Together to Reduce the Cardiovascular Disease in ASEAN" is the motto calling on people throughout vast areas, beyond national borders, to unite efforts in taking on the growing challenge of cardiovascular disease in this part of the world. We are proud to be given the honor to the host, for the first time even in Hanoi. This important event where number of eminent cardiologists from ASEAN, ASIA, Europe, America as where as Australia, are present, sharing science, building capacity and growing partnership, allowing us all to be better and stronger at fighting cardiovascular disease. Topics of common interest will be covered form clinical medicine to applied basic sciences, updates on seemingly acquired knowledge and skill, multifaceted patient care interventions, education within the family and rehabilitation. Interventional cardiology has made magnificent achievements, and Vietnam is happy to contribute as a new comer. One day Pre-Congress is on the agenda. It is with great pleasure that we welcome all participants to Hanoi, a charming city that will be celebrating its 1000th anniversary in 2010, bearing the original name: "Rinsing Dragon". You may be able to take the opportunity post-congress to visit beautiful sites around Hanoi and bring back home unforgettable souvenirs from your stay here. We would also like to thank all our partners worldwide for this ongoing support, encouragement and feedbacks. We look forward to sharing days of friendship and fraternity with each of you.
